Warranty

Refrigerated Dryers, Filters, Separators and Drains

What Is Covered

Every new dryer, filter, separator, drain and accessory supplied by HeatX carries the standard new-equipment warranty of the company that built it, as stated on the quotation and the order acknowledgement. It covers defects in material and workmanship under normal use; the remedy is repair or replacement of the defective part, decided on inspection. It does not cover removal and reinstallation labor, lost production or other consequential loss.

HeatX administers the claim: you report the fault to us and we handle the paperwork, the return authorization and the replacement part, one desk from first call to final remedy.

How Long It Runs

Refrigerated dryers typically carry one to two years from the date of shipment, the small plug-in models at the shorter end and the larger cabinet and skid models at the longer, with extended terms on some series when the matched filtration package is fitted and the annual service kits are used. Filter housings often carry a longer term than their elements; drains, instruments and parts carry the period on their own acknowledgement. The quotation states the period that applies and governs where it differs from this page.

The clock starts at shipment, not at start-up; if commissioning will be delayed for months, say so when ordering. A part replaced under warranty carries the balance of the original period.

What the Warranty Assumes, and What Voids It

A dryer is warranted for the duty on the order, at the nameplate voltage, with the filtration the installation calls for. Three things account for most declined claims.

  • Wrong voltage or phase. A 115 V dryer wired to 230 V, a three-phase unit run on two legs, a supply that sags on the compressor's inrush: motors damaged by supply faults are not defects.
  • Inlet air above the rating. A standard dryer is rated for 100°F inlet air and accepts 120 to 140°F depending on the series; air off a piston compressor with no aftercooler runs 180 to 200°F and overloads it. The high-inlet-temperature models exist for that duty. Pressure above the nameplate rating is likewise outside coverage.
  • No filtration. Compressor oil, pipe scale and bulk water carried into the exchanger foul it and jam the drain. A 1 micron prefilter ahead of the dryer, with a separator or receiver before it, is part of the installation the warranty assumes.

Also outside coverage: freeze damage, a condenser blinded with dust, refrigerant circuits opened by an unauthorized technician, and consumables such as elements, seals and fuses.

Making a Claim

Call 1-805-484-2992 or email Sales@HeatX.com with the model and serial number, the HeatX order reference, the fault, and the conditions at the time: inlet and room temperature, line pressure and the dew point reading. Photographs of the nameplate, the controller and the installation settle most questions on the first call.

Do not return equipment without an authorization number; we will say whether the fault can be diagnosed on site, whether a part will be sent, or whether the unit should come back. Where the evidence points to an operating condition rather than a defect, we say so plainly, explain what would prevent a repeat, and quote the repair either way.

Limitations

Repair or replacement of the defective part is the exclusive remedy. To the extent the law allows, no other warranty applies, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a purpose beyond the duty on the order. Liability is limited to the purchase price and does not extend to downtime, spoiled product, or incidental or consequential damages. Coverage belongs to the original purchaser and is not transferable; nothing on this page overrides the quotation or order acknowledgement.
