The GHTN Series is the filter for air that is still hot. A reciprocating compressor with no aftercooler discharges at 180 to 200°F, and an ordinary coalescing filter with nylon end caps and glass media bonded for 150°F service does not survive there. The GHTN housing and its 1 micron M1 element are built for 450°F, so the filter can sit directly on the compressor discharge or at the inlet of a high-inlet-temperature refrigerated dryer, catching rust, carbon and piston-ring debris before they reach the dryer exchanger. Eleven housings cover 15 to 1,600 SCFM on 1/4 in through 3 in NPT, with a clean pressure drop of about 1.2 psid.
A 1 micron particulate stage, on purpose. Only the M1 grade is offered: at 180°F and up nothing condenses in the bowl, so a coalescer would sit idle; Rust and scale from the discharge pipe and carbon from the piston rings are what foul a dryer exchanger; Manual ball-valve drain clears the little liquid that collects at start-up or after a shutdown; Change the element at 5 psid on the gauge, or on the 12 month schedule if the gauge never gets there.
Matched to the high-inlet-temperature dryers. A 50 SCFM high-temperature dryer takes GHTN 0065 M1 on 1/2 in NPT; a 100 SCFM unit takes the 0150 on 1 in; Sized for the 25 to 125 SCFM high-inlet-temperature dryers and for the 180 to 200°F air they accept; Where the dryer is a standard 120°F-inlet unit behind an aftercooler, use a GFN or NGF prefilter instead.

Flows are at 100 psig inlet; every housing carries the 1 micron GEHT element of the same size code, and the earlier NHT numbering for the same housings and EHT elements cross-references directly.
In-line ports, bowl down, a ball valve at the bottom and hot pipe on both sides.
Mount the housing upright with the ports in line and the bowl below, as close to the compressor discharge as the pipe allows and ahead of the dryer inlet. The flow arrow on the head must point toward the dryer. Allow room under the bowl for the bowl plus the element length so the element can be pulled straight down, and allow room for a hand on the ball valve; on the 1000 to 1600 sizes on 3 in pipe the bowl is long and the pipe should be supported on both sides of the head.
Everything here runs hot. Keep the housing away from cables and hoses, and pipe the ball-valve drain to a floor drain with metal tube, not plastic. Because the design pressure is 150 psig, the filter belongs on 125 psig single-stage systems as built; on a 175 psig two-stage machine it goes downstream of the receiver regulator, with the dryer behind it.

15 to 1,600 SCFM
