The GFN Series is the current general-purpose inline filter for the cycling, non-cycling and high-temperature dryers here. Eighteen die-cast aluminum housings run from 6 SCFM on 1/8 in NPT to 1,500 SCFM on 3 in NPT, and each is ordered with one of three grades: M1, a 1 micron coalescing prefilter that holds oil carryover to 0.3 ppm; M01, a 0.01 micron coalescer at 0.01 ppm; or AC, an activated-carbon adsorber that takes oil vapor down to 0.003 ppm. The dryer tables pair an M1 prefilter with an M01 afterfilter of the same housing for every cycling dryer size, so the filter set is settled with the dryer.
Housing built for a fast element change. Die-cast aluminum with an electrocoat inside and out and a powder coat outside; condensate and acidic oil do not pit the bowl; No tie rod through the element, so the bowl unscrews and the element drops free in one motion; Deep-pleated borosilicate microfiber media on glass-filled nylon end caps, sized for low pressure drop; Automatic float drain fitted on M1 and M01 housings; differential pressure gauge kit GFDP 0050 or GFDP 1500 adds the change indicator.
Matched to the dryer by size code. A 105 SCFM cycling dryer takes GFN 0105 M1 in and GFN 0105 M01 out on 1 in NPT; a 400 SCFM unit takes the 0450 pair on 2 in; The high-temperature dryers take an M1 inlet filter from GFN 0050 to GFN 0175 ahead of the 180°F inlet; Element sharing keeps stock simple: GFN 0070, 0085 and 0105 all use the GE 0105 element.

Flows are at 100 psig; each housing is also supplied as the M01 and AC grade under the same size code, with the matching GE element, and the note column shows the cycling dryer size each housing is paired with.

The housing sits upright in the line with the inlet and outlet in the head and the bowl hanging below. The arrow on the head sets the flow direction; the coalescing element drains oil down its outside surface, and a housing installed backwards blows that oil straight into the dryer or the tools. Leave room under the bowl for the bowl length plus the element length so the element can be pulled without disturbing the pipe, and keep the housing within reach of a wrench: on the 0700 and larger sizes on 2 in to 3 in pipe the bowl is long enough that a housing tucked under a receiver cannot be serviced.
The float drain discharges from the bottom of the bowl; run a tube to a condensate line rather than letting it drip. The AC housing has a manual drain because a carbon element must run dry; anything wet reaching it is a sign the M01 ahead of it has failed. Fit the differential pressure gauge on the head where it can be read from the walkway.
