Direct expansion sized for 180°F inlet

Separator first, then the refrigeration section

The HTR Series is the direct-expansion dryer for hot air: five 115 V units from 25 to 125 SCFM rated for 180°F at the inlet, which is what a reciprocating compressor without an aftercooler delivers. An integrated water separator ahead of the chiller takes out the bulk condensate that hot air carries, a zero air loss drain empties it, and a digital display shows the dew point. Pressure rating is 0 to 232 psig and the ambient range is 34 to 120°F. Every size has a matching 1 micron inlet filter package from the GFN Series listed against it, and the compact cabinet stands next to the compressor on a service-bay or shop floor.

Plug in, pipe up, filter the inlet. Every size runs from a 115 V outlet, from 0.47 kW on the 25 SCFM unit to 2.4 kW on the 125; A 1 micron inlet filter is listed for each model: GFN 0050 for the 25 and 50, GFN 0085 for the 75, GFN 0105 for the 100, GFN 0175 for the 125; Compact footprint, 19 in tall on the smallest and 41 in on the two largest, to sit beside the compressor; R513A on the 25 SCFM unit and R404A on the four larger sizes.

Cabinets and connections, 25 to 125 SCFM

From a 57 lb unit that hangs beside the tank to a 236 lb floor cabinet.

The HTR 0025 is 19.1 x 13.8 x 14.9 in and 57 lb with 1/2 in MNPT connections. The HTR 0050 is 31.0 x 22.6 x 18.1 in at 108 lb on 1 in FNPT, and the HTR 0075 is 31.0 x 18.1 x 22.6 in at 168 lb on 3/4 in FNPT. The HTR 0100 and HTR 0125 share a 41.0 x 18.1 x 22.6 in cabinet at 231 and 236 lb, also on 3/4 in FNPT. Full-load current runs from 5.2 A on the smallest to 17.5 to 18.7 A on the three largest, so those want a dedicated 20 A circuit rather than a shared outlet.

Install the dryer after the receiver with the matching GFN inlet filter ahead of it, and keep the line from the compressor short so the air arrives no hotter than it must. Leave the condenser face open and the warm discharge pointed away from the compressor intake, keep the room between 34 and 120°F, and pipe the zero-loss drain to a condensate separator. A three-valve bypass lets the dryer come out for service without shutting the shop down.
