Specifications

Configuration & Size

Sizes:
25, 35, 60, 80, 100 SCFM
Power:
115/1/60 on every size; 0.61 to 1.16 kW

HITN Series, size for size

Features

  • Takes discharge air up to 200°F, which a standard refrigerated dryer rated at 120°F cannot survive
  • Integrated moisture separator drops the bulk water that hot air carries before the refrigeration section
  • Zero-loss electronic drain discharges condensate without venting compressed air
  • Low-GWP R513A on all five sizes

Ratings

  • Max inlet temperature: 200°F
  • Pressure dew point: 50°F, ISO 8573-1 class 6
  • Pressure drop: 2.5 to 6.4 psid at rated flow
  • Refrigerant: R513A
  • Listing: UL and CSA certified

Rated for 200°F at the inlet

The dryer for a piston compressor with no aftercooler

The HRHT Series is the current high-inlet-temperature dryer, built for the 5 to 25 hp reciprocating compressor that has no aftercooler and sends 180 to 200°F air straight to the tank. Five sizes from 25 to 100 SCFM, every one a 115 V plug-in unit with an integrated moisture separator, a zero-loss electronic drain and low-GWP R513A refrigerant. The 25 and 35 SCFM units use a brazed-plate exchanger, the 60, 80 and 100 SCFM units an aluminum plate-fin exchanger with a controller that adds alarm history and energy-saving fan control. It replaces the HITN Series size for size and lifts the inlet rating from 180 to 200°F.

Two exchanger designs and a smart controller. 25 and 35 SCFM: brazed-plate exchanger in a 29.7 x 14.6 x 16.9 in cabinet on 3/4 in MNPT; 60, 80 and 100 SCFM: aluminum plate-fin exchanger in a 30.0 x 16.6 x 22.4 in cabinet at 123 to 132 lb; Controller on the three larger sizes adds LED diagnostics, alarm history and fan control that saves power at light load; Every size plugs into a 115 V outlet next to the compressor.

Sized from the piston compressor. A 7.5 hp two-stage piston compressor delivers about 28 SCFM and takes the HRHT35A; a 15 hp unit at 55 SCFM takes the HRHT60A; A 25 hp compressor at 90 to 100 SCFM is the HRHT100A, the top of the range; The 50°F dew point suits tools, tire service, blasting and body work; a paint booth or an instrument line wants a 38°F dryer behind an aftercooler instead.

HRHT Series Part Numbers

Part Number SCFM Connection Voltage Power Dimensions (in) Weight (lb)
HRHT25A 25 3/4 in MNPT 115/1/60
HRHT35A 35 3/4 in MNPT 115/1/60 0.64 kW 29.7 x 14.6 x 16.9 117
HRHT60A 60 3/4 in FNPT 115/1/60 0.61 kW 30.0 x 16.6 x 22.4 123
HRHT80A 80 3/4 in FNPT 115/1/60 0.77 kW 30.0 x 16.6 x 22.4 128
HRHT100A 100 1 in FNPT 115/1/60 1.16 kW 30.0 x 16.6 x 22.4 132

Flows are at the high-inlet-temperature rating, so an 80 SCFM HRHT is matched directly to an 80 SCFM piston compressor; cabinet figures are height by width by depth.

HRHT Series Applications

HRHT Series dimensional outline drawing

Two cabinets, plug-in power, NPT connections

Compact enough to stand on the floor beside the compressor or hang on the wall.

The HRHT35A is 29.7 in tall, 14.6 in wide and 16.9 in deep at 117 lb, with 3/4 in MNPT connections; dimensions for the HRHT25A are supplied with the quote. The HRHT60A and HRHT80A are 30.0 x 16.6 x 22.4 in at 123 and 128 lb on 3/4 in FNPT, and the HRHT100A uses the same cabinet at 132 lb with 1 in FNPT. Pressure drop at rated flow runs from 2.5 psid on the 35 to 6.4 psid on the 100, which is worth knowing on a shop that regulates close to the tank pressure.

Pipe the dryer straight from the receiver with a high-temperature prefilter ahead of it, since the air arrives at 180 to 200°F and a standard filter housing is not rated for that. Keep the condenser inlet clear of the compressor's own hot discharge, leave room to reach the drain and the panel, and run the drain line to a condensate separator. All five sizes take a standard 115 V outlet, so the only trades needed are a pipefitter and an afternoon.
