| Refrigerated Air Dryer | Non-Cycling, central plant | 2,500 and 3,000 SCFM | 232 psig / 120°F inlet |
The HPRplus Series is the large non-cycling dryer for a central plant that runs near full load around the clock: two sizes, 2,500 and 3,000 SCFM, each a single air-cooled cabinet on 6 in flanges with stainless steel brazed-plate exchangers, two-stage separation that takes out particulate down to 3 micron, no-air-loss demand drains and an energy-monitoring controller with Ethernet and RS485 ports. Hot-gas bypass holds the dew point at 38°F whatever the flow. Where the plant load is flat it is the simpler and lower-cost alternative to a digital-scroll machine of the same capacity; where the load swings, the HES Series in the same cabinet is the better buy.
Non-cycling at 3,000 SCFM. The refrigeration compressor runs continuously and a hot-gas bypass valve keeps the evaporator above freezing as demand drops; Power draw is 15.0 kW at 2,500 SCFM and 19.6 kW at 3,000 SCFM, and it stays there at part load; Fewer moving parts and no control tuning: the right choice where the compressors run loaded 20 hours a day; Five-year warranty available.
Matching the dryer to a 500 to 750 hp plant. Three 200 hp rotary screws at 4.4 SCFM per horsepower deliver about 2,640 SCFM, which lands on the HPRP3000 in a 100°F room; A 500 hp plant at 2,200 SCFM sits inside the HPRP2500 with margin for a hot summer week; Above 3,000 SCFM the DXR Series continues the non-cycling range to 4,200 SCFM.
| Part Number | SCFM | Connection | Voltage | Power | Dimensions (in) | Weight (lb) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HPRP2500 | 2,500 | 6 in flange | 460/3/60 | 15.0 kW | 85 x 60 x 48 | 2,315 |
| HPRP3000 | 3,000 | 6 in flange | 460/3/60 | 19.6 kW | 85 x 60 x 60 | 2,646 |
Both models are rated at 100 psig and 100°F inlet with 100°F ambient air over the condenser; the cabinet figures are height, width and depth in inches.
One cabinet outline for both sizes, differing only in depth and weight.
The HPRP2500 measures 85 in tall by 60 in wide by 48 in deep and weighs 2,315 lb; the HPRP3000 is the same height and width at 60 in deep and 2,646 lb. Air enters and leaves through 6 in flanged connections, so the dryer sits in a 6 in header without reducers on a plant of this size. Both are air-cooled, which means the condenser rejects the full refrigeration load into the compressor room; budget for that heat in the room ventilation, or duct the discharge to an exhaust louver.
Set the dryer on a level pad with clear space on the service side for the drains, the electrical box and the controller, and leave the condenser face open. Pipe a full-size bypass around the dryer so it can be isolated for a coil cleaning without stopping the plant, and run both demand drains to a condensate treatment unit rather than a floor drain. The 460 V three-phase feed is standard; 380 to 420 V 50 Hz, 208 to 230 V and 575 V builds are ordered by specifying the voltage on the quote.
The outline above is the common cabinet; a dimensional drawing with flange heights and pad loads is supplied with every HPRplus quote.
